King’s Shops Cultural Festival

The Hawaiian Cultural Center of Hāmākua will be opening the festivities for the King’s Shops Cultural Festival. Enjoy a day at the King’s Shops in Waikoloa with various activities, displays, and music by Josh Tatofi, Pomaika’i Lyman Keawe, Led Ka’apana and other performances. Be sure to stop by our booth to see what’s going on at the center!

Halloween Costume Craft Night

Location: Hawaiian Cultural Center of Hāmākua
Time: 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Suggested $20 donation

Express your creativity! Just in time for Halloween, join us at the Hawaiian Cultural Center of Hāmākua and craft your own costume. Some materials will be provided; however, everyone is encouraged to bring your own.  Bring supplies such as: fabric, cardboard, tin foil, newspaper, fabrics, scissors, glue, fabric paints and dyes, and of course anything your creative heart can think of! All ages are welcome. Bring dinner and make a night out of it!

 

Friday, October 27th
Mamane Night Market

Location: Hawaiian Cultural Center of Hāmākua – Honoka’a
Time: 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Free for the public to attend

Mamane Street will be filled with music, laughter, and delicious smells as the Hawaiian Cultural Center presents its first night market. Arts and craft vendors, food booths, and entertainment will be featured at the Historical Bothelo Building which houses the center. Music will be performed by Isaac Kawamoto and Ho’onui and a performance by the hula hui of the Hawaiian Cultural Center. This will be the perfect setting for a well-deserved date night or a night out on the town!

The Hawai’i Institute of the Pacific Agriculture (HIP Ag) is thrilled to announce the 8th Annual ‘Aina Fest! 100% of festival proceeds directly fund HIP Ag’s educational programming. Join us for a superb line-up of renowned musicians, traditional Hawaiian blessings and cultural practices, hula performances, local and organic food vendors, local crafts and more!

The Hawaiian Cultural Center of Hāmākua’s very own Lanakila Mangauil will be co-emceeing the event.

The public is invited to attend and encouraged to run!

As we open the Makahiki Season, join us for our spiritual run on our annual relay around the Big Island of Hawai’i. Inspired by the Pit River Ancestral run in Northern California, Lanakila Mangauil created the Makahiki Pule ‘Aina Hono Run. Join members of the Hawaiian Cultural Center of Hāmākua, other community runners and participants, and visiting native indigenous tribes as we bring blessings to the land. Run as little or as much as you want!
