Kapa Making

Kumu: Jani Fisher

Learn the tradition of kapa making in our monthly hands-on workshop. Jani Fisher teaches the complete kapa process from the cultivation of native plant materials, carving of implements, to the production dyeing and stamping (kapala).

Interested in video production and having your work aired on television? The Hawaiian Cultural Center of Hāmākua is Na Leo Television’s Hāmākua coast production hub.
