We continue to offer a variety of classes, workshops, and special events at HCCOH in downtown Honoka‘a. We invite teachers, practitioners, and other individuals or groups to contact our Program Director, Lanakila Mangauil, to arrange a date and time for your own class or workshop.

2nd Year Anniversary Celebration and Fundraiser
Save the Date – Saturday, March 10th, 2018
Celebrate our 2nd year anniversary with us at our E Ola Mau I Ka Pono Festival and the unveiling of the Kukulu: Pillars of Mauna ā Wākea Exhibit. The celebration opens with a blessing of the exhibit followed by live entertainment and performances, food, arts and crafts, and fun! Fill your glass and get your paint on with Paint ‘n Sip. Alexia Carvalho of Leiola Designs creates lovely Hawaiian floral designs on glassware and will teach you her techniques. Bring a friend and make some new ones! Materials provided. Pupu potluck.

Teri Sugg has been exploring inner worlds of clay for over 20 years. Learn simple techniques of making cups or vases with slabs of clay, and decorate them with the Sgraffito technique of scratching or carving through white clay slip to a colored clay beneath. You’ll have time to make up to two cups or small vases or one larger piece! Beginners are welcome! Clay, slip, glaze, tools, and bisque, and glaze firing will be provided. Bring: clothes you don’t mind getting dirty or an apron, an old rag towel or two, clay tools (if you have them), plastic bags to keep your work damp, and a small or medium lazy susan or turn-table is helpful.

Honoka’a Seed Exchange
Sunday, April 29th, 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Music, food, community, and of course seeds! Special guests Shekinah Carillo and Nancy Redfeather of the Hawaii Seed Growers Network will join us as presenters and will be selling their locally adapted seeds. All other seeds and materials will be free. Please bring a dish to share, if able, your own plate and utensils, and any seeds or soil-less plant materials. To prevent the spread of disease and pests, we ask that you bring only properly cleaned plant cuttings to share. Please respect our NO SOIL policy.
